Oregonians from Every Corner of the State Stand with Kulongoski

With support from Republicans and Democrats from every region, you can tell whose side he’s on.

(Portland, OR) – Ultimately, an election is about who a candidate represents. And the people standing behind Governor Kulongoski’s re-election reflect that he represents all of Oregon – Republicans, Democrats, rural and urban communities alike.

"From my personal interaction with the Governor, I can tell you that he deserves kudos as someone who works tirelessly every day of every week for Oregonians," said Crook County Judge Scott Cooper. "I traveled with him overseas to bring jobs to Oregon, and I saw how hard he works. I've attended funerals of vets with him and watched him display real grief and compassion for families left behind. When he talks about improving the quality of education and availability of healthcare, he's talking about issues ordinary citizens talk to me about every day. Governor Kulongoski cares about the average voter, and he's been showing that every day for nearly four years. That’s why he has my support this November."

The Governor has received endorsements from newspapers representing urban and rural areas, organizations representing hundreds of thousands of Oregonians, and more than 100 local, county and city leaders representing every geographic area of Oregon. Support ranges from his commitment to education to economic development to public safety.

"The Governor understands that our economic success depends on a strong education and a quality workforce," said Hillsboro Mayor Tom Hughes. "No one has done more over the last four years to pull Oregon out of the doldrums than the Governor has personally, and with the economic tides turning, we need to re-elect Kulongoski so we can keep moving forward."

"This election isn’t about Republican or Democrat – it’s about Oregon’s future and electing a Governor who will create economic opportunity for all of the state. That’s why I’m supporting Ted and encourage others to do the same," said Mayor Dale Thompson of Condon.

The Governor urges voters to read his voter pamphlet statement and to log onto www.tedforgov.com to see what he stands for – and who is standing by the Governor this November.

"This election is critical because after a hard recession, Oregon now has an opportunity to make real progress in the fight against meth, expanding economic opportunity, and putting our state on a sound fiscal path for the future," said Klamath County Sheriff Tim Evinger. "I know that Ted will continue to partner with local communities to ensure our entire state moves forward during the good times – and that we all support each other during the bad times. That’s why he has my vote and I urge other Oregonians to join me in re-electing Governor Kulongoski."
