The Oregonian: Behind the scenes look at Governor's special session leadership

This week the Oregon Legislature completed the quickest special session on record, passing five important pieces of legislation in just six hours.

Leaders were able to agree on increased funding for schools, fill a gap in the social services budget, pass regulations on the payday lending industry, enact tougher penalties for sexual predators and authorize Portland's ability to continue to use local taxes to fund schools.
