When Governor Kulongoski took office, Oregon led the nation in unemployment and hunger rates and the state faced a multibillion dollar deficit.
Over the past three years, the Governor has worked hard to rebuild our economy after the recession. He helped create over 100,000 new jobs, yearly personal income is up $3,000, and we have substantially reduced the hunger rate.
But Governor Kulongoski knows there is still more to do. That is why he is continuing to increase opportunities for worker training and attract new businesses to the state.
